1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.
2. Add in the Milk whisking until smooth.
3. Follow with the beaten eggs whisking continuously
until well blended.
4. Set aside to rest for about 15 minutes while
the oven is preheating to 400F.
5. Lightly grease a 9 x 13 baking tin.
6. Add cooking oil to the bottom of the tin, just
enough to cover.
7. This dish needs to be served immediately it
is cooked so about 10 minutes before you need it,
place the pan in the oven to preheat until just
starting to smoke, about 3 minutes but watch carefully.
8. Give the batter one last stir and then pour
quickly into the hot pan, returning it quickly to
the oven to bake for about 30 minutes.
9. When ready to serve, cut into large squares
and place them in a dessert bowl, top with a good
lashing of Double Devon Cream and drizzle with Golden
Syrup or maple syrup.
