    Yorkshire Parkin
    8 oz Self raising Flour
    4 oz Butter
    8 oz Oatmeal
    1 Tsp Ground ginger
    8 oz Treacle (or Molasses)
    2 Tsp Baking Soda
    4 oz Sugar 1 Egg
    1/4 pint Milk
    1 Pn Salt



    Another great baked dish from Yorkshire that makes a good accompaniment to an afternoon tea. Enjoy Yorkshire Parkin with a fresh cup of strong Yorkshire Tea.

    Preparation Time: 20 min
    Cooking Time: 2 Hrs
    Special Tips & Hints:

    1. Rub the butter into the sieved flour.

    2. Ad all the remaining dry ingredients.

    3. Now add your liquids, the treacle, milk and the beaten egg.

    4. When ready to bake, preheat an oven to 300F.

    4. put the mixture into a lightly greased or lined baking tin.

    4. Bake for about 2 hours.

    4. Cut into squares and enjoy
