1. Preheat oven to 350F.
2. Sift together the flour, sugar, ground ginger
and baking soda.
3.With fingers or a pair of forks, rub in the shortening
until the mixture is like a fine bread crumb mixture.
4. Add the Golden Syrup and mix thoroughly.
5. Roll out until thin on a lightly floured surface
and with a cookie cutter cut into 2 rounds.
6. Place on a greased baking sheet or Silpat and
cook for 10-12 minutes. Cool on a wire rack
