Ingredients

Celery Baked in Cream British Recipe from My English Pantry


1 Head Celery
1 tsp Ground Allspice
2 Garlic Cloves, crushed
10 ounces Single Cream (half & half)
1 ounce Fresh Breadcrumbs



Description
Serves: 4-6
Preparation Time: 20 min.
Cooking Time: 1 HR.

Directions


1. Preheat oven to 400°F

2. Reserve a few celery leaves for garnish, then cut the sticks lengthways into thin strips. 2.Reserve a few celery leaves for garnish, then cut the sticks lengthways into thin strips.

3. Cut each strip into 2-inch lengths and put into an ovenproof serving dish.

4. Mix the allspice, garlic and cream together and season to taste.

5. Pour over the celery.

6. Sprinkle with the breadcrumbs.

7. Bake for about 1 hour or until the celery is tender.

8. Serve hot, garnished with the celery leaves.
